Wendy Iles’ hair styles sell out in three days

Tasmanian born hairstylist Wendy Iles is enjoying heightened celebrity status in Paris with the successful release of a new book dedicated to her.
A coffee-table book of fine art photography featuring the creative hairstyles of the international celebrity is selling well around the world – particularly in Paris where all stocks have sold out within the first three days.
Archive, the book celebrating Wendy and her internationally admired creations, is being stocked at prestigious retail outlets in Paris like the Louvre Library of Mode Art and Design and the Library of Mode and Information. All copies of the book were sold out in the first days after first being stocked. German publishers of the book have been hurrying to replenish stocks in Paris.

The new book is also selling in Germany, England, United States, Australia and New Zealand as well as in France, and worldwide on the internet. In New York, the International Center of Photography Museum is to display Archive in exhibitions on fashion and beauty this year.
In Australia and New Zealand, the newly appointed distributor of the book is Intermedia, publisher of Estetica (fashion) and Instyle (hairdressing) magazines. Wendy says, “One of my greatest concerns has been getting the book easily and quickly to Australian buyers. So I’m very pleased to have Intermedia Press as the Australian distributor.”
As her fame spreads around the world, Wendy has received further recognition in Australia by being listed in the “Who¹s Who” directory of important people. She is listed in the first Tasmanian edition of the directory and the newest “Australian Womens Who’s Who”.
“I have been nominated and am flattered to appear in the ‘Who¹s Who’,” she says.
Wendy began her career as a fashion hairstylist in Tasmania where she was born and grew up. She continued as a freelancer in Sydney then London, Paris, where she is now based, and New York. She has had so many prestigious and famous clients over the years that she has become a celebrity in her own right.
Archive presents a selection of photographs from Wendy¹s archive of fashion and beauty hairstyles created in Europe during the last 15 years. Wendy is celebrating her 25-year career with the publication of the book. It features many of her most outstanding hairstyles created for such prestigious clients asVogue, Harpers Bazaar, Chanel, Louis Vuiton, Alexander McOueen, Gucci, Prada, Penelope Cruz, Monica Bellucci and Dita von Tesse. Featured on the cover of Archive is international top model Nathalia Vodianova.
The 228-page book on Wendy Iles is edited by Joachim Baldauf and Claudia Siedel and published by Printkultur in Germany. It is available from selected bookstores in the countries above and worldwide on the internet from the publisher’s web site. “Archive” is selling from the web site at 49.95 euros a copy plus shipping. It is selling in Australia for a recommended retail price of about $A83. The ISBN code of the book is 978-3-00-023631-0.

Wendy has just finished working on a photographic shooting in Paris for Australian international fashion designer Collette Dinnigan. The photographs will be featured in Harpers Bazaar magazine in Australia.
