Fuller bust lingerie brand Curvy Kate are searching Australia for their next Curvy Star in the second annual Australian Star in a Bra model competition.
Entries are now open for Star in a Bra, which is run through the brand’s Facebook page www.facebook.com/curvykateaustralia. The competition encourages all women who wear a D cup or above, are naturally curvy and charismatic, to submit photos in their favourite lingerie for the opportunity to become the face and body of the brand for the following season.
Curvy Kate’s Star in a Bra search strives to celebrate healthy, natural curves, a positive body image and diversity. With bra sizes ranging from 6-22, D-K cup, Curvy Kate is a brand for all women with a fuller bust and is passionate about using real women to model their lingerie.
Last year’s winner, 20 year old Julia McLean is currently in her 3rd year at university, studying a double degree in Business and Law at QUT in Brisbane. Julia was flown to London to be a part of the photo-shoot for Curvy Kate’s Autumn/Winter 2012 catalogue. She has also featured in Take 5 Magazine, Curvy Kate’s partner publication, appearing on the cover of a recent issue of the magazine.
“What really encouraged me to enter was the entire ethos surrounding the brand of Curvy Kate and the Star in a Bra competition itself,” said Julia.
“Curvy Kate as a brand celebrates women of all shapes and sizes and really pushes the boundaries of modern society’s portrayal of “beauty”… Curvy Kate’s Star in a Bra competition shows that D+ lingerie can look fabulous on such a wide variety of figures, as modeled by the ‘everyday women’ found during their Star in a Bra searches.”
The entry stage of the competition will run until Thursday 26th July and entries can be submitted through the Facebook application. The top 20 will then be chosen by a panel of judges, including representatives from Curvy Kate and Take 5 Magazine.
The voting will then be open to the public to choose the top 5 and then to decide their favourite to become the next Australian Curvy Kate star.
The winner will be flown to London in November 2012 for a photo shoot, and be featured in all Curvy Kate marketing for next season.
