Chives Frittata

December 14, 2008 by admin

Chives are one of the ‘fine herbs’ of French cuisine, which also include tarragon, chervil and/or parsley. Chives have a mild onion-like flavour with a hint of garlic. Chives are very versatile for salads, soups, sandwiches, soft cheeses, dips, dressings, grilled meats and sour cream.

Chives are a source of antioxidants and have the same or more antioxidants than many fruit and vegetables (2094 µmol TE per 100mg).

Ingredients
4 eggs
1/2 cup grated cheese
110g can of cream corn
1/4 cup of chopped salami
1 tbsp Gourmet Garden Chives

Procedure

Step 1:  Whisk together eggs, grated cheese, cream corn and chopped salami.

Step 2:  Add 1 tablespoon of Gourmet Garden Chives.

Step 3:  Pour into single serve dishes or ramekins – bake at 180C (360F) for 15 minutes. Cut into squares once cooked.

Step 4:  Serve with bread and salad. Enjoy!
